Alabama Compounding Pharmacy Recalls Certain Sterile Compounds

Filed September 6th, 2013 Laurie

Medaus Pharmacy of Birmingham, Alabama, has issued a voluntary recall of certain sterile compounded consumer products; this is because the company was unable to confirm that the quality control testing performed on the affected products by an independent third-party laboratory was of the highest standards.

The recalled products were dispensed between March 12 and July 22 throughout the United States. Medaus Pharmacy is in the process of contacting all patients and doctors’ offices that received the affected lots via phone and email to arrange for the return of the products.

Anyone who has questions or is seeking additional information should contact the company at 800-526-9183, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, CDT, where they can also receive instructions for returning the products to receive a full refund.

The names of the recalled products, along with their lot numbers and expiration dates, can be found here.
